The 4th annual Canadian Undergraduate Software Engineering Conference (CUSEC 2005) will be held in our nation’s capital (Ottawa, Ontario) from Thursday, January 13th to Saturday, January 15th 2005.

I am really excited about this years theme “Thinking Outside the Cubicle” which will cover working in teams in software engineering. I am even considering submitting an abstract for their Call for Presentations. Some example of topics that will be covered at the conference include:
We are officially announcing the first two keynotes here on Protose. When we get final confirmation from the other three keynote presenters we will announce them here as well.

Two great keynote presenters and three more to be announced shortly.
The conference will span three whole days. There will be 5 keynote presentations as well as numerous academic, paper and industry presentations, a couple tutorials and a round table discussion that will include some of the keynote presenters. Don’t worry, you won’t only be exercising your brain while you attend the conference, you will also be required to exercise your social skills. After every full day of presentations activities will be organized in the evening so that you can get the opportunity to socialize with like-minded software engineering students and others interested in software engineering. Who knows, maybe the next Google team will be created at a social gathering at CUSEC!
Price of conference will be $55 before January 1st and $75 after January 1st; right up to the day of the conference.
Want to help put a delegation together from your school? Send an email to presentations [at] cusec.ca and tell them what school you are coming from and that you are interested in putting a delegation together you are from. If you want to know if a delegation has been put together from your school you can also email us at presentations [at] cusec.ca and we will be happy to help you.
We will be interviewing over the next couple of months some of the keynote presenters from CUSEC 2005 so you can get to know them better before attending the conference. So stay tuned.

I look forward to seeing everyone there!
